Jeg er billedkunstner og tidligere semi professionel cykelrytter. Jeg har k\u00f8rt med licens siden 1983 og k\u00f8rer stadig som master.\r\n\r\nJeg kender sporten indefra. At sidde i feltet. At styrte. At k\u00f8re massespurter. At k\u00f8re for st\u00e6rkt ned ad et bjerg. At tr\u00e6ne i regn og kulde. At vinde. Og endnu mere at tabe og stille sig til start igen.\r\n\r\nMine v\u00e6rker tager udgangspunkt i cykelsporten, men de handler om noget st\u00f8rre. Om vilje. Om tvivl. Om modstand. Om at overleve nederlag og finde troen igen. Om at v\u00e6re alene i sit hoved og samtidig en del af et st\u00e6rkt f\u00e6llesskab.\r\n\r\nDen tilstand, jeg s\u00f8ger p\u00e5 cyklen, s\u00f8ger jeg ogs\u00e5 i maleriet. N\u00e5r jeg maler, er jeg lige s\u00e5 koncentreret og udsat, som n\u00e5r jeg k\u00f8rer l\u00f8b.\r\n\r\nCykelsporten har gjort mit liv rigere. Den frihed jeg m\u00e6rkede f\u00f8rste gang, jeg cyklede uden st\u00f8ttehjul, er den samme frihed, jeg leder efter i mine billeder.\r\n\r\nMine v\u00e6rker skal ikke forklares. De skal kunne m\u00e6rkes.","beskrivelse_en":"Meet the artist and the rider behind the work\r\n\r\nMy name is Carsten Leth Lundh. I am a visual artist and a former semi-professional cyclist. I have been racing with a license since 1983 and I still compete today in the masters category.\r\n\r\nI know cycling from the inside. Sitting in the peloton. Crashing. Sprinting in mass finishes. Descending mountains a little too fast. Training in rain and cold. Winning sometimes, but more often losing and lining up again the following week.\r\n\r\nMy paintings take their starting point in cycling, but they are really about the human experience within it. Willpower. Doubt. Resistance. Learning to deal with defeat and finding the belief to try again. Being alone in your own effort while still being part of a strong community.\r\n\r\nThe state of mind I search for on the bike is the same one I look for in the studio. When I paint, I try to reach the same level of focus and presence as when I race.\r\n\r\nCycling has shaped my life.
