The Raleigh name has stood for quality since its birth in Nottingham, England, in 1887. Raleigh’s range spans a number of models that all have a retro-modern look in one way or another.
The iconic Raleigh Tourist de Luxe
The Raleigh Tourist de Luxe remains a true classic. However, we do sometimes lean towards the drawings from 1921, but in fact, the foundation for our Tourist de Luxe is even older. Although we cherish the tradition and design around this bike, it is continuously adapted with respect for the history behind it and the original design so that everything looks and feels great. This means that the characteristic fork crown of welded tubes, the classic, noble colours and the lines of the bike’s fender remain as they have always been. To this day, the lines on the oil bath box are still painted by hand, and the bike is still assembled in Randers, Denmark, which it has been since 1999.
Raleigh’s bikes are iconic, blending a retro look with the satisfaction of the needs of modern commuting and leisure cycling. Raleigh has old English roots, but the brand was developed with the Danish market in mind by one of the world’s oldest bicycle companies, HF Christiansen, based in Randers and has been doing so since 1903.
