Piet has been riding at a high level on road, track and mountain bike for many years, until his body said: “Hey! It’s time to slow down and do other things than what you’re doing right now.”

He’s been working in the bike business ever since he was 17 – so that’s 34 years now, but still he doesn’t feel like he has a job.

He considers himself lucky and thinks about his hobby – cycling – every day.

Piet van der Velde is the man behind countless designs for leading brands such as Specialized, Colnago, Pinarello, Shimano, Sram, Prologo, Selle Italia, Selle San Marco, WTB, Cannondale, Rapha, Oval Concepts, Koga, Batavus and many more.

Many World Champions, Olympians Gold medalist, Grand tour and Cycling Monument winners have raced his products and still do until today, and there’s more then enough stories to talk about. Just ask!
